DAY ONE:

DAY TWO:

MORNING: Take a drive through Old Town Brunswick (see ATTRACTIONS: BRUNSWICK). A short drive north on US 17, tour Hofwyl-Broadfield Plantation . . . where the evolution of a rice plantation from 1807-1915 comes to life. Approximately 2-1/2 hours.

LUNCH: Enjoy lunch at one of St. Simons Island's unique restaurants.

AFTERNOON: Tour of St. Simons Island and Sea Island. Wander the historic grounds of Fort Frederica, hauntingly beautiful Christ Church, the St. Simons Lighthouse and Museum of Coastal History. Drive along one of the most beautiful avenues in the world as you view Sea Island, home of the renowned Cloister Hotel. Approximately 2-1/2 hours.

EVENING: Dine at one of the area's many fine restaurants, or arrange for a "low country boil" poolside at your hotel . . . a true coastal tradition. Enjoy a play by the Island Players on St. Simons Island, or an evening of live entertainment in St. Simons Island's Village area.

DAY THREE:

MORNING: A short drive north on US 17 (20 minutes) to the quaint fishing village of Darien. Tour Fort King George, the first English settlement in what is now the State of Georgia. Approximately 2 hours.

LUNCH: Cafeteria style at one of Brunswick's regional shopping malls.

AFTERNOON: Take a tour back in time to the residences of the ultra-rich as you visit the restored homes of the Rockefellers, Goodyears, Morgans and other members of the Jekyll Island Club, who escaped the northern winters on Jekyll Island. The 200-acre club complex is now a National Historic Landmark District.

EVENING: Dinner in one of the restored mansions in the Jekyll Island Club Historic District or overlooking the water at one of Jekyll Island's great seafood restaurants.

DAY FOUR:

MORNING: Board your motorcoach. for a trip into the past . . . Savannah, 70 miles north of Brunswick and The Golden Isles via Interstate 95 or US 17. Tour the largest restored historic district in the United States, stroll River Street or the city's many lovely squares.
LUNCH: Whether in a River Street pub or an elegantly restored mansion . . . lunch in Old Savannah is sure to be a treat.

MORNING: Pack a gourmet lunch and take a day trip to the Okefenokee Swamp Park, the "land of the trembling earth." Take a scenic boat tour through the swamp, visit the interpretive exhibits and wilderness walkways.
AFTERNOON: Free time to meander the Village area on St. Simons Island. Visit shops, watch the fishing and crabbing on the pier, or just take a surfside seat and watch the shrimp fleet at work.
EVENING: Sunset cruises, see the beautiful St. Simons Island Sound and the Intracoastal Waterway. Water taxi sunset cruise and/or waterfront dining tours.
