Easy adventure or total relaxation, the choice is yours on this private island paradise. All recreational gear (bicycles, fishing gear, canoes, kayaks, boats) and activities are included in your stay. Join one of our naturalists for a guided interpretive tour exploring the Island's ecosystem and diverse wildlife. Over twenty miles of hiking trails traverse the Island's maritime forests, and seven miles of deserted beach await for shelling, swimming or just strolling along the shoreline. A maze of tidal creeks and rivers meanders through and around the Island for touring by boat, kayak or canoe.
With over 280 bird species recorded on the Island, birding is one of the most popular activities. Recognized by the Audubon Society as an Important Bird Area and designated by the Western Hemisphere Shorebird Reserve Network as a reserve site, the Island hosts over 22 endangered or protected species.
