Georgia 511, a free service from the Georgia Department of Transportation, is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. By simply dialing 511, callers can receive up-to-the-minute statewide traffic conditions, route-specific information and details on road or lane closures due to construction, incidents or weather. Estimated trip times are available within metro-Atlanta. Additionally, callers can speak with live operators to report incidents or request HERO assistance.
Beyond simply providing information on roadways, Georgia 511 connects to a variety of transportation and travel services, including MARTA and other transit providers, major airports, rideshare organizations, tourism information and 511 systems in neighboring states
Georgia 511 is a free call from any landline or mobile phone. Normal airtime rates do apply. There are also a companion website at www.511ga.org and a toll-free number for callers from outside the state, 1-877-MYGA511.
